Jesse Pichel is a managing director and co-head of sustainability investment banking at ROTH. Prior to joining Roth, he served as Managing Director and Global Head of Clean Technology Research at Jefferies Group Inc. With 25 years of capital markets experience, including 14 years as a highly ranked sell-side analyst, Jesse is widely recognized as a leading expert in the solar and new energy technologies sector.
Having built a strong reputation as an analyst specializing in semiconductor equipment, electronic manufacturing, and emerging technologies, in 2005 Jesse made his first major foray into sustainable investments when he founded the CleanTech franchise at Piper Jaffray.
His insights and expertise have won him accolades and stock picking and earnings accuracy awards, including being named by the Wall Street Journal as a “Top Gun” and “Best on the Street” analyst, and being recognized three times by Institutional Investor, twice as a runner-up and once as a ranking recipient in the Alternative Energy category. He’s also won awards from Forbes and the Financial Times/StarMine.
Jesse actively contributes to the field of cleantech and sustainability, having served as a founding member of the Sierra Club Clean Tech Council and currently serving on the board of NGO Sustainability.
He obtained his B.S. degree from Cornell University and went on to earn his M.B.A. from Fordham University.
