Sean McGowan is a Managing Director, Senior Research Analyst at ROTH, specializing in the coverage of beverages and other consumer products. Prior to joining Roth Capital Partners in 2021, he served as a Managing Director at Gateway Investor Relations, where he oversaw clients in the consumer/leisure sector. Before that, he spent 30 years as a sell-side analyst at various firms, including Oppenheimer, Needham & Co., Wedbush, BMO Capital Markets, and Gerard Klauer Mattison, where he was one of the founding members.

Mr. McGowan's expertise in stock picking has garnered recognition. He was named the #1 Stock Picker in the Leisure sector in the Financial Times/Starmine survey for 2010. Additionally, he was the #1 Stock Picker and #1 Earnings Estimator in the 2006 Forbes/Starmine survey, a feat accomplished by only 15 analysts nationwide. In 1996, he was honored as the #1 Stock Picker in the Wall Street Journal Best on the Street survey. Furthermore, he has consistently ranked among the top five stock pickers and earnings estimators in various national surveys.

Mr. McGowan graduated summa cum laude from Hofstra University with a B.A. degree and earned his M.B.M. degree with distinction from the Harvard Business School.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. McGowan serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Toy Foundation, a philanthropic organization within the toy industry.
