Akero Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKRO), a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing transformational treatments for people with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and other serious metabolic disorders, has closed its initial public offering of 6,612,500, which included 862,500 additional shares pursuant to the full exercise of the over-allotment option granted to the underwriters. The shares were sold at the public offering price of $16.00 per share, resulting in the gross proceeds to Akero Therapeutics of approximately $105.8 million. The shares began to trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on June 20, 2019 under the ticker symbol "AKRO."
